Sorry if this is not an intelligent question, but what is the difference between station wds or access point wds in the wireless mode of the Air OS page?1. Should my Omni directional antenna be in Station mode wds or Access point wds?2. Should the antenna's with M5 Bullets that aim at the Omni Is the WDS Station connected to another WDS Station, or just clients? If it is just clients, the VAP can be in AP mode, otherwise use WDS AP mode. I always put the corresponding MAC addresses for the WDS AP and WDS Station in the ath0 WDS tab, make sure the dropbox next to it is LAN. _____ OK, I personally use EoIP tunnel instead of wds bridge or station-bridge. Mainly it is due to some historical reasons - the station-bridge was not available these days and I saw too much articles describing problems with wds (so I have a psychic block to use wds probably). I had two airport expresses configured as remote base stations in a WDS network with the dlink as main station. All working well and streaming itunes to expresses. I can't figure out how to replicate this with Extreme. WDS is real bridging, Universal Repeater is a form of NAT where the repeater impersonates its clients. WDS must be configured at both ends. Universal Repeater will work even if it only has a normal client/station connection to the access point it's repeating.
